The City of Tucson owns and operates 271 affordable housing units through the El Portal program. Operating costs are funded by rents. Units include both single family and multi-unit dwellings, and rents are set below the fair market rent for comparable units in the community. The units are available to any low income households with a good credit history and need.
This program is city-funded and operating costs are funded by rents.
