The Rent Supplement Program is a state-funded program modeled on the federal Section 8 housing voucher program. Each family pays at least 30% of its income toward rent. The state pays the rest up to a maximum of $230 per month. The program serves 231 households. There is a five year waiting list.
The Rent Supplement Program is funded through state appropriations. The legislature appropriated $1 million in FY16 for the program.
