The San Jose Housing Department administers a Housing Trust Fund program, which provides grants to nonprofit agencies that serve people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Funding priorities for the HTF program include programs that prevent or end homelessness through financial assistance, case management, and employment services. For FY13-14, one organization received a grant of $635,000 to provide case management for 40 homeless adults, and cover the costs of moving these households into permanent, supportive housing.
Funding Description:
Funding comes from City bond administrative fees, and other sources including developer agreements, settlements and bond issuance fees. Currently, the HTF receives funding of $1.1 million each year.
