The City of Sacramento adopted a local ordinance in 1989, establishing an impact fee on non-residential construction. Typically, the funding is used as gap financing, in addition to other federal and state resources available to local developers. Between 1989 and 2013, 2,500 new units of housing were financed.
Funding Description:
The program is funded by both the City and County of Sacremento on a project by project basis. The City has collected a total of $34,162,684 in fees, interest, and loan income since the inception of the fund in 1989. The balance available for new projects was $1,596,023 as of December 31, 2014.
