The Missouri Housing Development Commission (MHDC) Rental Housing Production and Preservation Program provides funding to developers for the acquisition and rehabilitation or new construction of rental housing for low income households. The program provides below market rate loan financing. In 2013,13 projects with 374 units received loans, ranging from $500,000 to $1.7 million..
The MHDC funding, also referred to as the MHDC Fund Balance monies, typically is distributed along with federal Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) and other federal program awards. For FY15, there was a $50 million MHDC Fund Balance.
