The property tax refund program is a tax relief program for homeowners or renters who are 65 years and older or people who are disabled. The maximum benefit that could be received under this program was $502, with the average payment being $385. In FY13, 18,865 households were served. The maximum credit allowed is based on the amount of property taxes paid.
Funding Description:
Funding comes from the state general funds. In FY10, $6,750,770; in FY11, $7,183,778; in FY12, $7,333,443; and FY13, $7,256,390 were paid out.
