In 2002, the Oakland City Council established the Oakland Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AHTF) to provide loans and grants for the development of rental and owner occupied affordable housing. In 2013, one project received $275,000 in AHTF funding, supporting the development of 62 new units.
Funding Description:
Funding for the Trust Fund comes from a jobs-housing linkage fee. About $1.2 million was generated through the jobs-housing linkage fee in 2013. In July 2013, the Oakland City Council set aside 25% of all boomerang funds starting in FY15-16 for the AHTF.
