The Housing Subsidy Program is funded and administered by the Children's Services Department in New York City. It reunites parents with children in foster care, and prevents children from entering foster care by providing a preventative subsidy of up to $300 a month. Young adults aging out of foster care are also eligible for this program. The subsidy is available for up to three years. In addition, program participants are eligible for special grants of up to $1,800 which can be used for a security deposit or moving expenses.
