The Empowering Choice Housing Program is a referral based transitional housing assistance program, designed to meet the housing needs of victims displaced by domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking. Rental assistance is limited to 36 months. Households receive an average of $705 per month.
Funding Description:
This program is funded by a set-aside of federal Moving to Work funds, and an appropriation by the Alaska legislature. The program began November 1, 2012. Funding was $1.5 million in FY13. .
