The Elderly Homeowner or Renter credit provides tax relief for people aged 62 years and older. To be eligible, individuals must reside in Montana for at least nine months and occupy the residence as a renter, owner, or lessee for at least six months of the claim period. The Elderly Homeowner or Renter Credit may not exceed $1,000. The amount granted is based on the rent paid and income level.
